Hearthling Support

Hearthling is a private, local-first pocket companion for iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. It does not store your creature on a House Rhymaun server.

What is First Resonance?

First Resonance belongs to Hearthling 3.0, which is pending App Review. If Apple approves that update and you install version 3.x, First Resonance is a free, immediate interaction between you and the egg you choose. It is not a purchase, timer, quiz, or random draw.

Choose one of ten authored spirit species, complete its native interaction, make a Steady, Curious, or Bold response, and meet the same companion as a Hatchling in that session. The chosen facet, score, and attunement persist locally with that companion.

The ten species use five distinct interaction engines: Living Trace, Elemental Balance, Memory Echo, Current Guidance, and Pulse Calling. The free Spirit Atlas explains every species, and the free Living Chronicle records reached forms, care, journal moments, badges, and keepsakes.

Which purchase options are available?

Hearthling 2.0: the first buddy and every care action are free. Extra Hearths is an optional $2.99 one-time purchase in the U.S. App Store that adds two buddy slots. Apple’s purchase sheet shows the authoritative localized price.

The former $7.99 Hearthling Caretaker product is retired and is not offered to new purchasers. People who bought it previously can still restore its extra rooms, looks, and JSON export with the Apple Account used for the purchase.

Hearthling 3.0 is pending App Review. Care Club Monthly, Care Club Yearly, and Cozy Hearth Pack are not currently available for purchase. They apply only if Apple approves the update and the installed app shows version 3.x with an Apple purchase sheet.

Contact

Email mmrhymaun@icloud.com. Include the device model, iOS or iPadOS version, Hearthling version and build, the exact message shown, and what you expected to happen. This mailbox is monitored for Hearthling support.

Never send an Apple Account password, verification code, card number, or full purchase receipt. Do not send a backup unless you deliberately choose to share the companion names and journal it contains.

Purchase or restore in Hearthling 2.0

Open Hearthling Settings and use the Hearth Store. Extra Hearths should appear only after StoreKit supplies the product and Apple’s localized price. It permanently raises the roster from one buddy to three; it does not put food, care, revival, or your first buddy behind a purchase.

To restore Extra Hearths or a prior Caretaker purchase, tap Restore Purchases while signed in to the Apple Account that made or received the purchase. If Caretaker no longer appears as a product for sale, that is expected; prior ownership can still restore.

Apple administers payment and refunds. To request a refund, visit Report a Problem. House Rhymaun cannot approve a refund or change an Apple transaction.

Price unavailable or purchase pending

If a price is unavailable, confirm the device is online, the App Store is signed in, and purchases are allowed, then reopen Hearthling. Do not rely on a price shown outside Apple’s purchase sheet. If a purchase says Pending, Ask to Buy or Apple payment approval may still be in progress. Do not repeatedly tap Buy; access appears only after StoreKit supplies a verified transaction.

Missing access or an extra buddy

If legacy Caretaker access is missing, restore purchases with the Apple Account that originally bought Hearthling Caretaker. The entitlement is permanent for prior purchasers even though it is no longer offered for new sale.

If an extra buddy is locked, Hearthling preserves the local record. Restore Extra Hearths and wait for StoreKit reconciliation; the buddy should unlock when the verified slots return. Do not delete or replace the roster while troubleshooting.

First Resonance did not finish

First confirm that the installed app shows version 3.x; public version 2.0 does not include First Resonance. In version 3.x, return to the egg and resume the species interaction. Your response is saved only when the ritual reaches its result and you choose Meet the named companion. If the app reports that the local save could not be opened safely, stop making changes and contact support with the exact message.

Backups and recovery

In Hearthling 2.0, JSON export is available to prior Caretaker purchasers; import remains free. A backup contains companion data, not Apple purchase ownership. Restore eligible purchases through Apple after importing.

An import can replace the current on-device roster. Export first if the installed version gives you access and you may want to return. If Hearthling reports that the local save could not be opened safely, stop making changes and contact support.

Deleting Hearthling may permanently remove local companion data unless you exported a backup first. StoreKit can restore eligible purchase ownership, but it cannot recreate a lost buddy or journal.

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets

Open Hearthling, select the companion you want displayed, and return to the Home Screen before adding or refreshing a widget. If a widget is stale, open the app once, perform or confirm a care action, and wait briefly for WidgetKit to refresh. Remove and re-add the widget if its family or configuration remains stuck. Widgets use timeline snapshots; they do not continuously play the in-app MP4 motion loops.
